Washing hands, wearing masks, social distancing, repeat. These core steps have been the definition of safety over the last year. But this is only part of Shaker Painting’s mission to Educate, Deliver and Protect its community, customers and crew.
While Shaker Painting proactively implemented CDC health guidelines into its daily practices, our team’s commitment to safety goes far beyond illness prevention. Our trade can be a dangerous one – with many painting jobs taking us quite literally to new heights – and that’s why safety precautions are ingrained in the Shaker culture in order to prioritize both our customers and crew.
Through countless trainings, numerous safety certifications, and steps to remain accountable, our team has strategic safety systems in place to ensure the well-being of all parties involved in a commercial, HOA or new construction project environment.
We make sure we’re covered so you don’t have to worry. We do it because we care.
WE’RE SUMMIT SAFETY CERTIFIED.
Summit Safety Certified Members make up an elite group of professional contractors who are actively engaged in creating safe working environments for customers and crew, and have demonstrated experience in implementing top tier safety measures.
Shaker Painting became Summit Safety Certified by meeting rigorous guidelines, including constructing a written safety plan, mandatory safety meetings, a training syllabus for all new hires, and maintaining a plan to sustain company safety culture. The most recent addition to becoming Summit Safety Certified is implementing mandated protocols for COVID-19 prevention in accordance with CDC and OSHA guidelines.
To achieve our Summit Safety Certification, the Shaker team went through a rigorous assessment process with 23 criteria, some of which include:
- Updated Safety Manual, Employee Sign Off Sheet
- Provide description of Company Plan to sustain safety culture
- New: COVID-19 mandated protocols followed in line with guidance of CDC & OSHA for field and office staff (working processes, training, customer communication, etc.)
You can find the rest of the criteria required to earn a Summit Safety Certification here.
While it might sound like a lot, a company’s commitment to safety has an effect on everyone. And being detailed and transparent are key elements of Shaker’s commitment to customer service and communication. It is our promise to sustain this culture of safety on the job and within the office at all times.
WE ARE OSHA 30-HOUR TRAINING CERTIFIED.
It is your job as an HOA or commercial property manager to paint the perfect picture for your tenants: offering a clean, visually appealing place to live or work. With our industry expertise and extensive safety training, we make this your reality.
When Shaker Painting was founded almost 30 years later, we ensured our standards not only met but exceeded OSHA requirements to avoid on-site health and safety risks.
Specifically, Shaker Painting has earned numerous OSHA certifications through its 30-hour industry training, which included topics such as general worksite safety, avoiding common hazards, understanding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and more. From the ground level all the way up to 125 feet in the air, our team is OSHA certified in aerial platform work, ladder safety and fall protection to elevate your toughest projects.
Some of our signature services, such as the Graffiti Guard, are also made possible through OSHA’s Spray Applied Painting Safety Certification.
Over the years, we’ve helped numerous clients clean and paint graffitied surfaces through our Graffiti Guard system, which offers several options to protect against damage to your professional surfaces. For example, Shaker Painting can apply an anti-graffiti coating that can be easily washed off – and the graffiti right along with it – then replaced with a either clean coating, a semi-permanent coating, or a fully permanent coating that offers an ultra-durable, washable finish.
The Graffiti Guard system, possible through our spraying safety training, is one of our most valuable services and used in hundreds of projects across Colorado.

WE REMAIN ACCOUNTABLE.
The work does not stop once our team has earned a respective safety certification. We hold ourselves accountable. Each month, our Project Managers lead monthly safety meetings for our crew members, helping us to go above and beyond standard OSHA requirements.
During monthly meetings, our team discusses safety goals and responsibilities, general health and safety guidelines, and to remain proactive, we discuss plans in place for potential hazards. For example, we have a Hazard Communication Plan, a Fall Protection Plan, and a Scaffold Safety Plan, so our team is prepared for the appropriate actions and responses in case of risks encountered on the job.
Additionally, Shaker Painting understands that managing risk is a critical part of any business operation. That’s why we carry a minimum of $2 million dollars in general liability insurance in addition to workers compensation, umbrella, and automotive insurance.
We’ve got your back by ensuring we protect our own, too. When you work with Shaker, know that you are in safe hands.
